IL CRISTIANESIMO CONTRO LA CULTURA DELLA MORTE

This section of the site offers articles, studies and books about the relationship of the Christian event with history and society, according to the work and testimony of Edith Stein, Patron Saint of the European continent. The "culture of death," so called by St. John Paul II, is an ideological culture that denies the sacred and inviolable value of human life - from conception to natural death - and affirms the right to kill the embryo, the fetus and the child, the sick and the old. It is a culture that also denies the sacred and inviolable value of marriage between man and woman and generally the existence of all the moral law, assigning to the power of the majority the ultimate authority that establishes good and evil. It is therefore a culture that denies the divine design on the reality and transcendent value of the human person, to replace all this with relativism and the absolute power of democracy. The effects of this culture, which has become a dominant mentality in recent decades, are the extermination of the innocent with numbers never seen before in history (over one billion unborn children killed, not to mention the incalculable number of embryos killed), the denatality of the whole West, the destruction of countless families and therefore of the whole vital fabric of society, the disappearance of communities, the loneliness of millions and millions of men and women, the excessive power of the mass media and the internet and their owners, the spiritual and ideal emptying of human minds, the homologation of youth in new deterministic stereotypes, the reduction of peoples to mere state aggregations. The Magisterium of the Church has opposed to this culture since its birth, especially since the mid-nineteenth century, when it began to conquer the places of power and the formation of the consciences of all men, shaping a new world without God-Christ and without his moral law. The Christian world has been divided between those who have decided to follow the new dominant culture and those who, instead, following the Magisterium, have committed themselves to exposing the falsity of this culture and to proposing the event of Christ's presence, that only saves man from death, from the nonsense and darkness of evil, introducing him into a bright experience of communion with God and with his brothers, that is, in the "culture of life." This section offers historical, philosophical and theological studies on the work of the Magisterium of the Church and the Christian world in relation to the culture of death and its achievements and for the experience and diffusion of the culture of life. In particular, the Magisterium of each Supreme Pontiff is summarized, starting from Pius IX in the mid-nineteenth century until Francis in our day. The fundamental document is the Encyclical "Evangelium vitae" (1995) by St. John Paul II, in which the entire preceding journey finds a synthesis and a punctualization of crucial importance, For this reason a particular study is offered on this document, in order to highlight its decisive contents. Studies are also offered on Marian apparitions, which played a very important role in promoting the thought of the Church, from that in Paris in 1830 to the recent phenomenon of Kibeho and Medjugorje. The work of the Christian world is considered in some key figures of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and in the emergence of new vast Catholic aggregations actively present within society. The vastness of this topic and its enormous historical significance make it necessary to carry out a substantial study and synthesis: for this reason this section of the site is particularly consistent and in close connection with the metaphysical, theological and spiritual foundations presented in the other sections.

In questa sezione del sito vengono offerti articoli, studi e libri riguardanti il rapporto dell’avvenimento cristiano con la storia e la società, secondo l’opera e la testimonianza di Edith Stein, Patrona del continente europeo. La “cultura della morte”, così denominata da S. Giovanni Paolo II, è una cultura ideologica che nega il valore sacro e inviolabile della vita umana - dal suo concepimento alla morte naturale – e afferma il diritto di uccidere l’embrione, il feto e il bambino, il malato e il vecchio. È una cultura che nega anche il valore sacro e inviolabile del matrimonio tra l’uomo e la donna e in genere l’esistenza di tutta la legge morale, assegnando al potere della maggioranza l’autorità ultima che stabilisce il bene e il male. È dunque una cultura che nega il disegno divino sulla realtà e il valore trascendente della persona umana, per sostituire tutto questo con il relativismo e il potere assoluto della democrazia. Gli effetti di questa cultura, diventata mentalità dominante in questi ultimi decenni, sono lo sterminio degli innocenti con cifre mai viste prima nella storia (oltre un miliardo di nascituri uccisi, senza contare l’incalcolabile numero degli embrioni uccisi), la denatalità di tutto l’Occidente, la distruzione di innumerevoli famiglie e quindi di tutto il tessuto vitale della società, la scomparsa delle comunità, la solitudine di milioni e milioni di uomini e di donne, lo strapotere dei mass-media e di internet e dei loro proprietari, lo svuotamento spirituale e ideale delle menti umane, l’omologazione della gioventù in nuovi stereotipi deterministici, la riduzione dei popoli a mere aggregazioni statali. Il Magistero della Chiesa si è opposto a questa cultura fin dal suo nascere, specialmente a partire dalla metà dell’Ottocento, quando essa ha cominciato a conquistare i posti di potere e la formazione delle coscienze di tutti gli uomini, plasmando un nuovo mondo senza Dio-Cristo e senza la sua legge morale. Il mondo cristiano si è diviso tra coloro che hanno deciso di seguire la nuova cultura dominante e coloro che invece, seguendo il Magistero, si sono impegnati per smascherare la falsità di questa cultura e per proporre l’avvenimento della presenza di Cristo, che solo salva l’uomo dalla morte, dal non senso e dall’oscurità del male, introducendolo in una esperienza luminosa di comunione con Dio e con i fratelli, cioè nella ”cultura della vita”. In questa sezione vengono così offerti studi storici, filosofici e teologici sull’opera compiuta dal Magistero della Chiesa e dal mondo cristiano nei confronti della cultura della morte e delle sue realizzazioni e per l’esperienza e la diffusione della cultura della vita. In particolare viene sintetizzato il Magistero di ciascun Sommo Pontefice, a partire da Pio IX a metà dell’Ottocento fino a Francesco nei nostri giorni. Il documento fondamentale è l’Enciclica “Evangelium vitae” (1995) di S. Giovanni Paolo II, in cui tutto il percorso precedente trova una sintesi e una puntualizzazione di cruciale importanza, Per questa ragione viene offerta uno studio particolare su questo documento, per metterne in luce i contenuti decisivi. Vengono anche offerti studi sulle apparizioni mariane, che hanno avuto un ruolo molto rilevante nella promozione del pensiero della Chiesa, da quella a Parigi nel 1830 fino al recente fenomeno di Kibeho e di Medjugorje. L’opera del mondo cristiano viene considerata in alcune figure chiave dell’Ottocento e del Novecento e nel sorgere di nuove vaste aggregazioni cattoliche presenti attivamente dentro la società. La vastità di questo argomento e la sua enorme rilevanza storica rendono necessario un consistente lavoro di approfondimento e di sintesi: per questa ragione questa sezione del sito è particolarmente consistente e in stretta connessione con i fondamenti metafisici, teologici e spirituali presentati nelle altre sezioni.
